Sustainability

We want you to feel great about wearing Karmavore - not just because of the high quality and empowering messages, but also because they are ethically and responsibly made.

Being transparent about our manufacturing process and business practices is important to us, so below we've listed information to help you understand our commitment to people and the planet.

ETHICALLY MADE & SWEATSHOP FREE

Doing things the right way has never been up for debate, which is why we ensure that everyone who works with us does so in a safe, humane and ethical work environment. We only work with clothing manufacturers who are committed to operating in an ethical manner, which is why all of our clothes are manufactured in the USA and WRAP certified factories worldwide.

WRAP is a globally recognized, independent third party certifying body whose mission is to promote ethical, humane, and lawful conditions and practices in all manufacturing facilities.

WRAP certification principles include:

  • Human resource management
  • Health and safety standards
  • Environmental and eco-friendly practices
  • Legal compliance including import/export, custom compliance and security standards

ECO-CONSCIOUS CLOTHING

Did you know that around 85% of all textiles produced by the fashion industry end up in landfills? Equally as disturbing, one in every five garments produced by the fashion industry reach landfills without ever being worn. The truth is that every purchase, big or small, has a footprint. You choose the size of the mark to leave on the planet, and we want to help you choose wisely.

We love and honor mother earth, which is why we work hard to minimize the impact of our manufacturing, printing, and shipping processes while auditing all business practices with the intention of reducing our carbon footprint.

Below are just some of the ways we are doing our part to protect the planet:

  • All of our clothing is manufactured in facilities that go far beyond standard sustainability practices in the areas of water, energy, and waste reduction.
  • All made to order clothing is created only once a customer places their order, allowing us to avoid textile waste from overproduction.
  • All made to order clothing is printed using the direct-to-garment (DTG) printing method. The high quality, state-of-the-art printing equipment used by our printing partners creates almost no water waste and uses less energy than standard industry printers.
  • All made to order clothing is printed using vegan, water-based inks that are non-hazardous, toxin-free, biodegradable, and certified with an OEKO-TEX Eco Passport.
  • All premade items are screen printed in small batches using PVC-free and phthalate-free inks.
  • All premade items are printed, embroidered and shipped from the Southwestern United States (Phoenix and Houston). By centralizing operations within a small geographical area of the US, our carbon footprint is minimized while creating American jobs in the region!
  • Our team works 100% remote, meaning no gas guzzling commutes to and from the office.
  • Any items that cannot be sold are either recycled or donated by our team.

ALWAYS EVOLVING

Our intention has and will always be to protect people and the planet. While we pride ourselves on our ethical and eco-conscious practices, we are always looking at ways that we can be improving our sustainability efforts. Stay tuned and join us on this journey of growth and ongoing improvement.
